Stralsund - St. Nikolai Church, Germany

Did you ever take a HDR @ 70mm without a tripod? :D

Changing the lens and setting up the tripod would have taken too much time because the sunbeams disappeared after a few seconds.

The color of the church is real: [link]

What do you think about this one?

*head over heels* just perfect, you never cease to amaze me with your photo compositions. the contrast of the softness of the light, the sky, and the buildings is beautiful. congrats on another wonderful piece!

good timing

there are some things that I love about HDR and some things I don't. In some cases HDR photos are so far departed from what our brain thinks it should be seeing that the image looks fake.

I absolutely love the clouds, the church however looks a tad fake. my brain fights this image because I know that the church is back lit so I shouldn't be seeing so much detail and color. perhaps just desaturating the church a little?

The "halo" around the church is also a little distracting.

were you able to get a vertical shot of this same formation? I think the tall steeples of the church fight the landscape format of this photograph.

I know you didn't ask for advanced critique but I hope you don't mind. I love your work, I even like HDR sometimes but sometimes it dosen't belong. I think this image could be much more powerful.
