Stralsund - St. Nikolai Church, Germany
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - Did you ever take a HDR @ 70mm without a tripod? Changing the lens and setting up the tripod would have taken too much time because the sunbeams disappeared after a few seconds. The color of the church is real: [link] What do you think about this one? - - - - - - - - - - - - - Canon EOS 400D + Tamron 70-300mm |

Mmyes, quite.
there are some things that I love about HDR and some things I don't. In some cases HDR photos are so far departed from what our brain thinks it should be seeing that the image looks fake.
I absolutely love the clouds, the church however looks a tad fake. my brain fights this image because I know that the church is back lit so I shouldn't be seeing so much detail and color. perhaps just desaturating the church a little?
The "halo" around the church is also a little distracting.
were you able to get a vertical shot of this same formation? I think the tall steeples of the church fight the landscape format of this photograph.
I know you didn't ask for advanced critique but I hope you don't mind. I love your work, I even like HDR sometimes but sometimes it dosen't belong. I think this image could be much more powerful.
