This is an breath-taking work. I'm ashamed to say I don't recognize the flower (biology was never my strong suit) but the wonderfully warm oranges and cool violets are at once startlingly different, and wonderfully complimentary.
I am very curious as to how you got the flower-drops to be so detailed. The out-of-focus original flower leaves the smaller flower drops to take the stage and stand out on their own.
I feel that this piece could be stronger. The play with focus was wonderful, but the water makes me feel as if there is room for play with light as well. I would love to see another with the same subject but more of a focus on highlights/shadows. Perhaps using a carnation or a flower with the same type of multi-layered petaling.
Again, a wonderful composition with excellent colour and focus.
